In the past, my favorite breeds were the Arabian and the Irish Hunter. Due to my present need for horses that are less hot, I decided to investigate the Lippitt Morgan. In the standard, it says that children should be able to climb on, under and around the Lippitt. Since I have five grandchildren and lots of small friends, the Lippitt satisfies the requirement. I also teach beginners to ride, and need quiet, safe steeds for them.

As I researched the Lippitt, I became interested in the original known as Justin Morgan who genetically speaking should have never been able to produce himself as he was the product of an outcross, but he did over and over and so did his sons and daughters making the first truly American breed of horse, originating in New England where I live.

At Pineknoll, there is a twenty-seven year old rescue named Moses, who is bringing up another generation of children. Probably Job would have been my choice for a name as he typifies the prophet Job. Even close to death when I found him, he trusted me to bring him back to a beautiful animal. Baroncrest Libby Allen is a four year old mare who was bred in WI by Barbara and Ron Loos, and is a pure delight exhibiting the superb temperament of a Lippitt. After losing another mare in foal to Genesis last winter named Randallane Paragon "Ari", Libby has become very dear and valuable. She will produce foals from Genesis who will be for sale.

She is presently being trained by Julie Kirk and I in the Natural Horseman style, and already showing an appitude for hunt and dressage. I am looking forward to many wonderful years with her.
