She's officially Chateau d'Vie Hors de Pair OA HT CGC. A pupster out of Hamish and 'Tique (she will be 3 years old Nov/98). Rival has changed my life immensely ! She has taught me so much about dogs and training - and about how close and significant a dog/human relationship can be!! She has taken me through the full spectrum in dog training - breed, obedience, agility, herding, and tracking. In breed we need that one last elusive major. In obedience, we are diligently training for the time in the spotlight and going after some top placements. In agility, well, she is just awesome! Be prepared to hear more about her agility accomplishments in the future!!! In herding, she has such drive and commitment. She needs to SLOW down a bit before we will be successful at the next herding levels, but she has NEVER turned her back to sheep - even with all the pressure we have put on her - and I'm told this is a GOOD thing and to be patient with her current 'happy feet' approach to herding. And finally tracking, our training sessions are great fun. She loves to track and I envision a successful tracking career for us too!!
In summary, I'd like to coin a phrase from Terry and Gloria Adams in their description of Mokie in the gallery as it also applies to Rival, "...She is in love with life and shows it!"
